Summer Fiesta Marks Milestone For Seniors Housing Initiative
Last year the Christenson Group of Companies launched its multiphase seniors housing initiative on Edmonton’s south side—Southwoods Court North. Located in Southwoods Village, in the charming neighbourhood of Hazeldean, this project represents Christenson’s commitment to building inclusive, walkable and multigenerational communities.
Time for a Fiesta
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Southwoods Court North, Christenson is inviting everyone to the Southwoods Summer Fiesta on July 28, 2018. The celebration will include traditional Mexican dancers, a mariachi band, Mexican food and refreshments, prizes and speakers sharing insights about the evolution of a community.
Supporting Sustainable Growth
Christenson Communities offers executive retirement living for seniors in a familiar community they love and call home, and Southwoods Court North is a perfect example of this. As seniors in the area move from their family homes to Southwoods Court North, more housing becomes available for young families in mature neighbourhoods, supporting the City of Edmonton’s age-friendly goals as well as increasing density in a sustainable manner.
As leaders in innovation, the Christenson Group of Companies has also made a significant investment in green energy with the installation of a state of the art geothermal heating and electrical system that serves Southwoods Court North and Southwoods Village. Attendees at the fiesta are invited to check out the geothermal system and tour the suites at Southwoods Court North.
