Can-Der Construction Corp is the construction management arm of Christenson Group of Companies. Owned by Jerry Walker, Can-Der Construction has built over 1,000 bungalow villa homes in active adult communities and over 2,000 active adult estate condominium apartments and seniors retirement units across the greater Edmonton area since 1989.

About Can-Der Construction

After managing Can-Der Construction Ltd for over 20 years Jerry Walker purchased the construction company. Can-Der Construction builds sustainable urban villages featuring a variety of multi-family housing styles, including wood frame bungalows, estate condominiums and senior's retirement apartments.

Award winning adult bungalow projects built by Can-Der include Creekside, Whitemud Creek Estates, Riverside Common, and Terra Losa Villas in Edmonton, Ironwood Point, Governors Hill, Erin Ridge and Eaglewood Villas in St. Albert, and Eton Park Villas in Sherwood Park. Award winning estate condominium apartment projects include Creekside, Railtown Estates, and McRae Estates in Edmonton, and The Greenbrier, Ironwood Estates, Eaglewood Estates in St. Albert, Springs of Bridgeport in Leduc, and Festival Estates in Sherwood Park.

Outstanding concrete high rise active adult communities include; Alta Vista at Railtown, River Vista in down town Edmonton, and Park Vista at Centre in the Park in Sherwood Park. Can-Der Construction has built many innovative seniors retirement communities; both for credible not for profit agencies, and for its own seniors arm, Christenson Communities.

Not for profit projects include Hillside Village for Bethany Group in Camrose, Lions Villages in Castledowns, Railtown, and Riverside in Edmonton, Place Beasejour in Beaumont, Salem Manor in Leduc, and Royal Oak Village in Lacombe.

Award winning retirement communities for Christenson Communities built by Can-Der Construction include Devonshire Village, Glastonbury Village in Edmonton, Citadel Village in St. Albert, Bedford Village at Centre in the Park in Sherwood Park, and Royal Oak Village in Lacombe.

Prior to becoming partners in 1989, Peter Dirksen owned successfully with his wife Christine Dirksen, Can-Der Developments Ltd. which developed Esquire Manor in Edmonton, Christine Manor in Devon, and Parkside in Calmar, amongst other quality rental apartment buildings. Prior to 1989, Greg Christenson managed Chris-Con Builders Ltd.for his father Lloyd, and Arcon Design Services starting in1980, and Christenson Property Management Ltd starting in 1985.

The Christenson Group is an active member of the Canadian Home Builders Association, New Home Warranty Program of Alberta, The Urban Development Institute, Built Green, and Chambers of Commerce in Edmonton, Strathcona County, and St. Albert. Greg Christenson and Bard Golightly and many other valuable Christenson Group members have served at leadership positions in these effective groups.

The Christenson Group has won Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and some North American awards for it homes and communities, and has been Builder of the Year numerous time since its formation in 1989.
